Contact the Editorial Team
Contact Stock Research Portal Blog about research questions, data corrections, or permission to use our content.
Use this page to reach the editorial team about our research. We review each message and reply when a reply is useful. Specific messages are easier to act on, so the sections below describe what to include.
What you can write to us about
- Questions about the scope, sources or method of an article, or suggestions for topics within our coverage areas.
- Reports of a factual error, with the article URL, the statement in question and a source.
- Requests to reproduce or adapt our content beyond the quoting allowed in our terms.
- Questions about how we handle correspondence.
Writing a useful research question
A good question names the topic and the decision or understanding you are trying to reach. Please include:
- the article URL, if your question relates to one;
- the industry, region and period you care about;
- what you already know or have read, so we do not repeat it;
- the kind of answer you need, for example a definition, a comparison of methods or a pointer to public sources; and
- any constraint, such as needing publicly available data only.
A narrow question tied to one table, filing or release is easier to answer than a broad one, because the answer can point to a specific public source. We may use suggestions to decide which topics to cover, but a message does not commit us to writing a particular article.
It can help to read the Editorial Policy for how sources are handled and then the article’s research scope and limitations section, because many questions about what is covered are answered there. If your question is about a company or dataset, name the specific filing, table or release you have in mind. The Data Sources directory shows which primary datasets we already track. For a packaging machinery question, say which segment you mean, as in Packaging Machinery Market. If two figures seem to disagree, send both with their periods and definitions, since differences in scope or timing are a common reason numbers do not match. Questions that ask for a buy, sell or hold view, or for a supplier recommendation, fall outside our scope.
Reporting a data error
Include the article URL, the statement you believe is wrong (quoted if you can), what you think is correct, and the supporting source with its publisher, period and page or section. A link with a locator is more useful than a link alone. If the issue is a unit, period or definition, say which one, and quote the line in the source that states it. If the error is in a table, name the table and the row. If the source itself has been revised, give the release date of the version you are using. Naming the exact table, row and release date saves a round of follow-up questions.
A report that explains why the statement is wrong is easier to check than one that only says it is wrong. We compare each report with the original source and do not change an article on an unsupported claim. See Corrections & Updates for how reports are checked and recorded.
Permissions and quoting
State what you want to reuse, where it will appear and in what form, such as a quotation, a table or a figure. Our Terms & Research Disclaimer sets out what quoting is allowed without asking. If you are quoting under those terms, attribute the article by title and URL, and do not present our illustrative examples as company data or as evidence of real figures. Tables and original figures are part of the article, so reusing them outside the article needs the same care as reusing text. Material that comes from the cited sources belongs to those sources, so reuse of it is a matter for the original publisher.
Privacy and how we handle your message
Please do not send confidential business information, account details or personal data that is not needed for your question. We use your message only to respond to it and to follow up on the request, and we do not pass messages to third parties as sales leads. Details are in our Privacy Policy. If you would like your name left out of any correction record or acknowledgment, say so in the message. Please write only for the purpose of the request, and avoid attaching files unless they are needed to support a correction. We cannot treat a message as privileged or confidential, so keep sensitive material out of it.
A short, structured message is usually enough. One order that works: the article or topic, the question in one sentence, the context behind it, and the sources you have already checked. If your message covers more than one subject, such as a data error and a permission request, consider sending them separately so each can be handled on its own terms and nothing is lost between topics.
What we do not handle
- Machine quotes, pricing or supplier introductions. This site does not sell machines.
- Investment advice or opinions on whether to buy, sell or hold a security.
- Paid links, sponsored posts or link exchanges.
